How I Make Videos

Pre-Production/Planning is the most fundamental factor in the success of literally any video or film project. Pre-Production is the main function and vital phase that sets the tone for the success of the project. Pre-production is the stage where all elements of a video project—narrative, intended message, strategies, tools, and budget—are scoped out. All the details of the project and goals are addressed at various points during this process.

Whether you need help brainstorming your new concept or hiring your crew, I can help you design a workflow for your pre-production process that helps you properly plan, scope, save money and time from day one.

  • Project Management, including client meetings
  • Concept Development
  • Script Writing and Script Consultation
  • Storyboarding
  • Hiring Crew
  • Talent Casting
  • Location Scouting
  • Securing Location Permits
  • Shoot Preparation, Scheduling, and Planning
  • Budgeting

The production phase is the part most everyone recognizes: capturing all the action and characters on video. It’s fun but is only successful when the pre-production phase has the proper planning.

Production is when the crew, cast, and budget come together to make all the magic happen for your project. There are many moving pieces during this phase that include preparing and situating equipment and props, taping down wires, setting positions of actors, and making the location as safe and secure as possible.

  • Overlaying additional graphics
  • Adding music or voice-overs
  • Creating and applying special visual or sound effects
  • Correcting or altering colorization
  • Audio mastering and sound design
  • Enhancing audio track

*Drafts of the project are shared with the client for their review and approval, and to solicit any changes or revisions they need to make
