For 15 years, I’ve been living the indie filmmaking life, and I have to be honest—some days it hasn’t been what I expected, while other days it’s the most therapeutic and fulfilling career I could imagine. I’m almost at a point where I feel like I’m about to retire—well, maybe not quite, but I do feel like I’m transitioning into the phase where you sit back, give advice, and teach others from your own experiences, hoping they won’t make the same mistakes.
The main thing I’m focusing on now, since I get asked about it a lot, is myself. That includes writing a film that will change history. I’m not terrified by the challenge because I feel strongly about it; I just know it’s a timely endeavor. Others might not see it as groundbreaking, but rather as breaking the norm—and that’s exactly what I’m aiming for!
